Crofton Lake Facilities

Here at Crofton Lake there is ample parking on site and we provide fishing in pleasant and quiet surroundings.

The fishing is from wooden platforms only, most of which have been renewed over the last couple of years. Some of these platforms are double sized. Ideal if fishing with a partner or a child.

As well as this six of the platforms next to the car park are wheelchair accessable with a hard path leading to them.

I would like to remind everyone that we at CADCAC are extremely fortunate to have our very own, fully licensed and extremely knowledgeable Club Coach.

I doubt if anyone knows Crofton better than Jimmy, who benefits from not only his years of experience on the water but from all the information he gathers on his daily walks round the lake in his position of Bailiff.

Jimmy is a valuable club asset who can help newcomers learn to fish in all disciplines or he can show more experienced anglers new methods to help them catch that fish of a lifetime. Not to mention being able to put you on the right peg and tell you the baits that are working right now for any of the species currently swimming in our lake. So whether you are struggling to tie knots, get to grips with a pole or understand feeder and carp rigs, Jimmy is your man.

You can book Jimmy for private one on one tuition by phoning 01228 711084 during office hours (a small fee may be charged to cover expenses

Crofton Lake - a brief history

The Crofton Estate goes back to the times of King John.

In King John's time, the manor of Crofton was the property of Sir Gilbert, son of Sir Gilbert de Dundraw, from whom it passed, by marriage, to Crofton, the father of Sir John Crofton, whose daughter transferred all their family estates to her husband, Isold Brisco.
